The Bench

 

 

One of the things I was excited about the house was this corner right here, immediately the image came into my mind once I saw this beautiful feature. I knew it would look great building a bench or bay window banquette.The space was pretty big too, so that allowed me to make the bench just the way I imagined it would be, it was perfect.

 

 

 

Bench was not one of the first things we did, of course,there were a lot of other things done before the bench, but I wanted to post it first because it is my favourite spot in the house.

We sure used all the space at the window area for the bench so we could have extra seating.

This photo was taken just before the finish of the bench,it was not really that hard to build it, as long as you are good at measuring, no problem.

 

 

 

And Voila. This is the favourite spot I was talking about, just having to spend early mornings with kids and spending time together on this bench while the seasons change is amazing. I used our old classic chairs, just painted them black, so we could  have a combination between modern and classic (our kitchen is pretty modern) and the wood blinds as well added a look of coziness and warm home.
